Fordham Early Learning Academy, Ocala Charter Middle School joining free meals program

Students at Fordham Early Learning Academy and Ocala Charter Middle School will now receive free breakfast and lunch meals, joining a list of over 50 school sites in Marion County that are participating in the Community Eligibility Provision initiative.

Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) has provided free meals to students at these schools since the start of the new school year.

The Food and Nutrition Department of MCPS will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students, regardless of family income, at all participating school sites throughout this school year. This means that over 44,300 students will receive free meals without question.

No application is required to participate. Schools were selected based on the percentage of students from each campus who are participating in one or more variations of public assistance/service programs, according to MCPS.

This program is provided in partnership with the Community Eligibility Provision initiative and is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture.

For more information, please contact Food and Nutrition Department Supervisor Jamie Lovett via phone (352-671-4191) or email (Jamie.Lovett@marion.k12.fl.us).
