The Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park will host a ceremony to commemorate the lives of those lost during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The park will host a 21st anniversary commemoration event on September 11 starting at 8:30 a.m.
All are invited and encouraged to attend the event, which will feature color guards, patriotic songs, bagpipes, and multiple guest speakers. A placement of wreaths will take place after the guest speakers, followed by a bell ceremony, rifle volley, and ghost taps.
A flyover will also be performed by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Air 1 unit.
The Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park is located at 2601 E Fort King Street in Ocala. Parking for the ceremony will be available in the Ocala Public Library’s large lot, which is located at 2720 E Silver Springs Boulevard.
