Marion County Chili Cook-Off returning to Southeastern Livestock Pavilion in November

The Marion County Chili Cook-Off is returning to Ocala later this fall for its 41st installment.

The cook-off event will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, which is located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Road.

Since 1981, the Marion County Cook-Off has served as an annual fundraiser to benefit The Cornerstone School.

According to the cook-off event page, The Cornerstone School’s mission is to hold a community event that emphasizes tradition, food, family, and fun, while creating relationships between businesses and organizations in Marion County.

Over 6,000 people attend the family-friendly event each year, and local businesses and organizations compete to see who has the best chili in Marion County. To be eligible for this year’s cook-off, all registrations must be submitted by no later than Saturday, October 22.

In addition to the featured chili competition, the event will also include a car show, a children’s area, and music by DJ Rocket. The funds that are raised throughout the event will be used for The Cornerstone School’s general needs, including technology, safety, and school-wide improvements.

For more information on the event, including how to become a sponsor, host a chili team, or participate in the car show, please visit the Marion County Chili Cook-off website or contact The Cornerstone School at 352-851-8840.
