Give4Marion returning for third year after raising over $500,000 for nonprofits in 2021

The Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion County will host Give4Marion next week, and nonprofit organizations across Ocala, Marion County, and surrounding communities will be taking part in this year’s fundraising campaign.

The third annual Give4Marion event will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, and it will run continuously through 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21. The 33-hour extended event is designed to raise money and awareness for local nonprofits in Ocala and Marion County.

In 2021, the second installment of the event generated just over $532,000 for local nonprofit organizations.

More than 85 nonprofit organizations are expected to participate in this year’s event. According to the Community Foundation, a record number of local businesses and charitable foundations have also agreed to be event sponsors, offering bonus prizes to nonprofits.

A total of 32 power hour prizes will be awarded to large and small nonprofits, respectively, with the most donors within the hour. There will also be scheduled Matching Moments, where all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100, and several nonprofits have secured their own matching gifts as well.

With a minimum donation of $10, people can choose from a wide array of nonprofit organizations from their computers and mobile devices. Donations can be made online using a credit card or bank transfer, and offline gifts (checks or cash) will also be accepted.
