Fort King National Historic Landmark to host free gardening class on invasive plants

The Fort King National Historic Landmark is hosting another installment of its ‘Classroom in the Garden’ series later this month which will focus on invasive plants.

The gardening class will be held on Friday, September 30, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Fort King National Historic Landmark located at 3925 E Fort King Street in Ocala.

During the class, participants will learn about the negative impact that non-native invasive plants have on the environment. Those in attendance will also get to practice identifying non-native invasive species while learning about the different plants that can be used to replace them.

There is no cost to attend the class, and it is open to adults (ages 18 and up). No registration is required.
