The Marion Theatre will begin its Sensory-Friendly Saturdays series next month with a showing of the 2021 Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto.”
Films included in the series will be shown downstairs in adequate lighting and at a safe volume for all sensory-sensitive guests, according to Marion Theatre. Those in attendance will be free to stand up, walk around, dance, sing, and take any necessary breaks during the film.
On October 1, 2022, at 12:30 p.m., the series will kick off with a showing of the film “Encanto.” It fells the story of an extraordinary family that lives hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a place called Encanto.
The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift – every child except Mirabel. When she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.
Sensory-friendly films are scheduled throughout the year and are currently slated for October 1, 2022, January 7, 2023, and April 1, 2023. This schedule is subject to change, and Marion Theatre states that additional dates may be added.
