Marion County Fall Job Fair heads to Ocala on September 22

CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion will host the Marion County Fall Job Fair on Thursday, September 22 for those who are seeking new career opportunities.

The hiring event will be held on Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the College of Central Florida’s Klein Conference Center located at 3001 SW College Road in Ocala. Job seekers in Citrus, Levy, and Marion Counties are encouraged to attend.

According to CareerSource CLM, the following businesses plan to attend the upcoming job fair: AutoZone Auto Parts; AutoZone Distribution Center; Bryant’s Pump Service & Well Drilling of Florida; City of Ocala; Chewy; Chick-fil-A Ocala; CWR Contracting; Dollar Tree Distribution; E-One; Florida Department of Children and Families; Florida Department of Corrections; Florida Department of Juvenile Justice; Florida Express Environment; HCA Florida Citrus Hospital; Marion County Public Schools; Marion/Service Roofing and Sheet Metal; Trademark Metals Recycling; and World Equestrian Center.

Dale French, CareerSource CLM’s executive vice president, stated, “There is no better time to lock in a great job. Our unemployment rate is low and we’re seeing businesses throughout our region expanding and looking for those who are ready to work.”

French added that the job fair gives candidates the opportunity to meet in person with hiring managers from a wide array of industries with a variety of positions to fill.

“This is your chance to get your foot in the door, make a good impression, and possibly walk away with a job interview or even a job offer,” said French.

Those planning to attend the job fair should bring printed copies of their resume and be prepared for on-the-spot job interviews. Appropriate attire is required: no flip-flops or casual sandals, t-shirts, shorts, jeans with rips or holes, or anything too tight, short, revealing, or with profane language.

While masks are no longer mandatory, attendees should feel free to wear face coverings if they wish to do so.

Candidates interested in updating their resume, preparing a 30-second “elevator speech”’ highlighting their skills and experience, and/or sharpening interview skills are encouraged to visit one of CareerSource CLM’s career centers for fee-free staff assistance.

The career centers, which are located in Ocala (2703 NE 14th Street), Lecanto (683 S Adolph Point), and Chiefland (2175 NW 11th Drive), are open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
