According to Sheriff Woods, Westbrook gave the female victim a ride to her friend’s house. Before the victim could get out of the vehicle, Westbrook allegedly shoved the victim’s head into the car window and stole $680 from her purse.

Sheriff Woods stated that after Westbrook allegedly stole the victim’s rent money, he quickly drove away. The MCSO Major Crimes unit investigated the incident, and the sheriff stated that probable cause was developed to arrest Westbrook.

“Daniel (Westbrook) has avoided all contact with my detectives. Now, I know he is not going to turn himself in because he has refused to speak with us about the incident since the beginning of this month, so we need your help finding him,” said Sheriff Woods.

If you have any information on Westbrook’s whereabouts, please call Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP and reference 22-56 in your tip. If you use Crime Stoppers and your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
