MCPS extends school closures due to Hurricane Ian

Marion County Public Schools is extending its closures through Friday, September 29 due to the anticipated severe weather from Hurricane Ian.

The closures are district-wide and affect all schools, departments, and district offices. MCPS employees should check their email accounts for make-up days later this school year.

West Port High School will open as a special needs shelter at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, and multiple other public schools will open as general needs shelters at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28.
