Retired USAF Technical Sergeant Philip Stanley Pendergrass passed away Sept. 22, 2022.

He was born 29 August 1953, in Highland Park, MI. He graduated from Cherry Hill High School in Inkster, MI in 1971, followed later by graduation from the Community College of the Air Force and the University of Maryland University College. He was called to active-duty 4 April 1973. Following graduation as a Chapel Manager, he was assigned to the 50th Air Base, Hahn Air Force Base, and Germany. He separated from the Air Force in September 1977, but re-enlisted Christmas Eve 1981.

After completing training as an Exterior Electrician, he was assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base where a medical exam found him medically unfit for duty. He was transferred back to his prior career field as a Chapel Manager but remained at Luke Air Force Base. His duty assignments included, Hahn Air Base, Germany; F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming; Luke Air Force Base, Arizona; Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany; Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri; Comiso Air Station, Sicily, Italy; and Hurlburt Field, Florida.

Phil Pendergrass is survived by his wife, Karen, his sons, Mark (Nicole) and Scott, step-daughter, Kelly (David) Pepper, step-son, Aaron Robinett, and five grandchildren, Alyvia and Alyssa Pendergrass, Jonathan, Liam, and Matilda Pepper.

A committal ceremony will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life immediately following at Cross Pointe Church, 5494 SW 50th Ct, Ocala, FL 34474.
