Dennis K. Roberts, Sr., 67, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away October 15, 2022, in Gainesville, FL. Dennis was born in Grove City, PA, on August 19, 1955, to George and Shirley (Gilbert) Roberts, Sr.
Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an over the road truck driver for 40 years and retired in August of 2021. His hobbies include fishing, boating, camping, golfing, building model airplanes, woodworking, entertaining and cooking, specifically barbecue. Dennis was affectionately referred to as a cigar aficionado. Thanksgiving was also a special time for their family to come together and they have created many memories over the years.
Dennis was so proud of his companion, Eva, his children, and grandchildren. He was a great provider for his family, knew how to make everybody happy, and was referred to as a self-made man. He may also be remembered for his smack talk.
Dennis is survived by his partner of 22 years, Eva Keith; sons, Dennis (Jessie) Roberts, Jr., Bowling Green, FL; Brian (Tina) Roberts, Ocala, FL; daughter, Carmen Roberts, Homosassa, FL; brothers, Dwayne (Sharon Kerns) Roberts, Loogootee, IN; Albert Roberts, IN; sisters, Hope (Jimmy) Petersen, Ocala, FL; Estelle (Mike) Roman, Portage, IN; Greta (Chuck) McClelland, Knox, IN; Lori Vroman, PA; and five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George, Sr. and Shirley, and siblings, Angel Piazza, George Roberts, Jr., and Theresa Roberts.
A celebration of life will be held at Roberts of Ocala Downtown Chapel on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Dennis loved the color red, please dress casually and wear something red in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
