Storm pipe installation to cause temporary road closure on County Road 314A

Due to the removal and installation of a storm pipe, motorists in Marion County can expect a temporary road closure on County Road 314A, from NE 17th Place to NE 14th Street Road, beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 28.

Anderson Columbia will be doing this roadwork for the Marion County Board of County Commissioners as one of the sales tax resurfacing projects. The work will entail removing and installing the storm pipe underneath the existing roadway on County Road 314A.

The construction area will be impassable until the new pipe is fully installed and the roadway is reconstructed. Workers and equipment will be located in the county right-of-way.

County Road 314A will be passable to local traffic only up to the pipe construction area. Traffic will not be able to pass over the construction area.

Crews will place barricades and signs to detour traffic around the work zones. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

According to the Marion County Office of the County Engineer, construction is expected to be completed on Sunday, October 30 at approximately 6 p.m., though adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances may affect schedules.
