Ocala manufacturing plant’s upcoming 54,000 square-foot expansion to add 70 jobs

The construction of a 54,000 square-foot expansion is currently underway at a manufacturing plant in Ocala, which could bring up to 70 new jobs to the city.

Champion Manufacturing, a producer of medical devices, held a ceremonial groundbreaking and ribbon cutting event on Saturday, October 22 at the construction site where the expanded facility will be located. Approximately 150 employees and family members were in attendance, along with several city dignitaries.

According to Champion Manufacturing, the addition of the new facility will double the total amount of production lines from three to six, and it will add up to 70 new staff positions that will include quality assurance positions, leadership roles, general production, upholstery, metalworking, and wood shop. The company will provide on-the-job training for each of these positions.

In a social media post, Champion Manufacturing stated that it “has proudly called Ocala home since March 2021″ and is here to stay. The company is located at 5516 SW 1st Lane in Ocala.

Champion Manufacturing currently produces Winco and TransMotion products, and the company will begin producing Champion product line chairs on-site once the 54,000 square-foot expansion is complete. Construction is already in progress and is expected to be completed in March of 2023.
