Ocala man dies after crashing motorcycle into tree in Orange County

A 27-year-old man from Ocala died on Saturday afternoon after his motorcycle crashed into a tree in Orange County.

On Saturday, November 12, shortly before 1:05 p.m., the man was traveling southbound on Round Lake Road on a 2008 Kawasaki Concours 14 motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

As the man neared the intersection of Round Lake Road and King Avenue, he attempted to navigate a right-hand curve in the roadway and lost control of his motorcycle. FHP stated that the motorcycle proceeded to veer off the roadway and collided with a tree.

The man was transported to a local AdventhHealth hospital where he later passed away due to his injuries. His name was not released by FHP.

The crash is under investigation, according to the FHP report.
