MCPS announces new literacy campaign

Marion County Public Schools has announced “Launching Literacy in the Community,” a new campaign that aims to help elementary school students and their families engage in literacy outside of the classroom.

“Education doesn’t stop in the classroom, and we, as a school district, want to provide the resources to help all our students succeed,” stated MCPS on its Facebook page

The goal of the campaign is for elementary school students and their families to continue the literacy lessons learned in the classroom with activities and conversations that go beyond the school day, according to MCPS.

To help families engage in literacy, MCPS stated that its team is working hard to create fun and unique worksheets and partnerships.

One of those partners is The Mojo Grill & Catering, and their restaurants will soon have literacy-focused kids’ menu placemats with various problems and puzzles that were created by MCPS educators.
