The Belleview Christmas Parade is set to return this weekend after a two-year hiatus.
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 4 at SE Robinson Road/SE Abshier Boulevard (Highway 441), and participants will travel north to SE 110th Street.
At the conclusion of the parade, float traffic will continue north on Highway 441. All walking participants will exit at their designated locations: Heart of Florida Health Center on SE 110th Street for small groups and the Belleview Square Plaza for large groups.
This year’s parade is being hosted by the Friends of the Christmas Parade, LLC, and Mary Harper of Operation Shoebox will serve as the parade’s Grand Marshall.
While the parade will kick off at 2 p.m. on Sunday, road closures will be in effect from 1 p.m. until the conclusion of the event. SE Abshier Boulevard (north and south) will be closed from SE Robinson Road to SE 110th Street. Motorists can expect numerous local roads to be closed as well, especially in the area of Lake Lillian.
On the day of the parade, northbound traffic on Highway 441 will be detoured to SE Baseline Road, and southbound traffic on Highway 441 will be detoured to SE 92nd Place Road.
During the parade, Belleview Police Department officers and local law enforcement partners will be stationed along the route throughout the city to help ensure the safety of everyone in attendance.
