Ocala seeks contractor to resurface outdoor athletic courts

The City of Ocala is currently soliciting quotes for an experienced contractor to resurface multiple outdoor athletic courts throughout the city.

The request for quotes is currently posted through the City of Ocala’s Procurement and Contracting Office and runs through Wednesday, December 21 at 2 p.m.

According to the scope of work outlined in the request, the chosen contractor will provide all labor, materials, and equipment required to resurface the following athletic courts:

  • Six tennis courts located at Tuscawilla Park (300-899 NE Sanchez Avenue).
  • Two tennis courts located at Fort King Tennis Center (3301 SE Fort King Street).
  • Three concrete basketball courts located at Lillian Bryant Park (2200 NW 17th Place).
  • Two tennis courts and four concrete basketball courts located at Martin Luther King Recreation Complex (1510 NW 4th Street).
  • One concrete play pad located at Wyomina Park (1051 NE 11th Avenue).
  • One concrete play pad located at Toms Park (2245 N Magnolia Avenue).
  • Three tennis courts and two asphalt basketball courts located at Jervey Gantt Recreation Complex (2200 SE 36th Avenue).
  • Three tennis courts at Clyatt Park (1500 SE 17th Street).
  • Two asphalt basketball courts at Ocala Regional SportsPlex (3500 SW 67th Avenue).
  • One half-sized asphalt basketball court at OPD Tot Lot (2400 W Silver Springs Boulevard).

In addition, the scope of work states that multiple athletic courts throughout the city will also require an application of new playing lines.

The contractor will be required to schedule all work with the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department to help ensure that there is minimal disruption to any scheduled programs. The normal working hours for this resurfacing project will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

The City of Ocala will award a contract to the lowest bidder that meets all requirements, and it will be for an initial two-year term with four additional one-year renewals.
