“Alan is a dedicated and engaged healthcare leader of integrity who has served in multiple leadership roles with HCA Healthcare during his more than 15 years with the company,” said Richard Hammett, HCA Healthcare North Florida Division president.

I am confident he and the team at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital will continue on a path of success and remain steadfast in our dedication to caring like family for our colleagues, patients, and communities in North Central Florida,” added Hammett.

During Keesee’s tenure, HCA Florida Capital Hospital expanded access to emergency care and critical healthcare services in Tallahassee and the surrounding communities through the establishment of two additional freestanding emergency rooms, a 20-bed inpatient rehabilitation center, and a 10-bed NICU, according to HCA Healthcare.

Keesee’s team also launched two graduate medical education programs (psychiatry and dermatology), expanded outpatient mental health and wellness center services, performed the hospital’s first TAVR procedure, and became a thrombectomy-capable facility.

HCA Capital Hospital has received six ‘A’ safety ratings by Leapfrog, as well as dozens of Healthgrades recognitions including America’s Best 100 for Joint & Orthopedic Surgery and Patient Safety and Surgical Care Excellence Awards, according to HCA Healthcare.

In November, Leapfrog awarded an ‘A’ safety grade to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital.

Prior to joining HCA Florida Capital Hospital, Keesee served as CEO at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also previously served as CEO at HCA Florida Capital Hospital, as well as associate CEO at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

“I look forward to working with the talented team at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital as we continue to grow our services and attract and retain the best talent to serve the changing healthcare needs of our communities,” said Keesee.

“Our healthcare professionals here in North Central Florida have cared for hundreds of thousands of individuals and families, creating healthier tomorrows with each healing moment,” added Keesee. “It is truly an honor to be a part of the HCA Florida Healthcare family and I look forward to what our teams will accomplish together at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.”

Keesee obtained his master’s degree in healthcare administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he recently served as the Alumni Association President, and his bachelor of economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
