17-year-old girl charged with attempted murder, two others arrested in connection with Ocala shooting

The Ocala Police Department arrested three individuals, including a 17-year-old girl, in connection with a shooting that occurred on SW 1st Street on Saturday morning.

At approximately 11 a.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of SW 1st Street in reference to a shooting. According to OPD, two shooters had fired multiple shots at a 29-year-old male victim.

The victim sustained one gunshot wound during the incident, and his injuries were not life-threatening.

In a social media post, the police department stated that the victim was outside a residence at the time of the incident when a black Ford Fusion drove by the home. The driver of the vehicle was identified by police as 20-year-old Deonsha Brown, and the vehicle’s two passengers were identified as 17-year-old Kanariya Pinellas and 20-year-old Kemariyon Foster.

According to OPD, Pinellas and Foster proceeded to exit the vehicle, and they allegedly began shooting at the victim. After the victim sustained a gunshot wound, the police department stated that Pinellas and Foster returned to the vehicle, which then fled from the scene.

There were multiple witnesses who were near the incident location at the time of the shooting, according to OPD. Officers were able to locate the vehicle, along with the three suspects who were interviewed and arrested.

Pinellas has been charged with attempted murder. In addition, Brown has been charged with accessory after the fact (attempted murder) and Foster is facing a charge for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A court date has been scheduled for Brown and Foster at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, according to Marion County Jail records.
