Marion County Sheriff’s Office hiring deputies

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is looking for members of the local community who are interested in a career in law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office is currently hiring patrol deputies, detention deputies, and deputy trainees for patrol and detention. These positions include a $7,500 sign-on bonus for sworn deputies with over five years of experience and $5,000 for sworn deputies who have less than five years of experience, according to a social media post from MCSO.

“As a fifth-generation resident of Marion County, I can tell you that this is a wonderful place to live and work,” stated Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods. “Our agency is looking for honest and reliable applicants who feel a heartfelt calling to serve others.”

Applicants who are not currently sworn will be able to earn a salary while participating in the academy as a sponsored trainee. In addition, all applicants will be required to go through an extensive background check that includes a polygraph examination.
