The Ocala Police Department is seeking help identifying a person of interest in connection with a sexual assault of an elderly female victim that occurred at her apartment on Wednesday.
At the time of the incident, a male suspect entered an elderly woman’s residence at Saddleworth Green Apartments located at 2901 SW 41st Street in Ocala, according to a social media post from the police department.
OPD stated that the elderly victim is battling cancer and was alone when the suspect entered her apartment and sexually assaulted her.
According to OPD, the suspect was also carrying a screwdriver that he used to poke the victim. In video surveillance footage that was obtained by the police department, the male suspect was seen holding a screwdriver.
OPD detectives are actively investigating the case and are looking for a person of interest (pictured below). The police department is offering a cash reward to anyone who can provide information leading to his identification.
