Gary Thurman Wilson of Frankfort, Kentucky passed away of natural causes on January 3, 2023 while at his winter home in Ocala, Florida. Gary was born November 29th, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jesse Wilson and Catherine Holland. Gary was married to Joyce Wilson his much beloved wife (deceased 2016) for 37 years.
Gary was an avid motorcyclist and gun collector. He enjoyed his church, family, and friends above all else and was known and loved for his kind and caring soul.
Gary was a member of the Masons and a generous donor to many charities, including: The Shriners, the Wayfarer Louisville Chapter, the Elks Lodge, the Masons and Police organizations, as well as many others.
Gary is survived and will be greatly missed by Linda Hinton (sister), Mike Wilson (brother), Carol Wilson (daughter), Gary Wilson Jr (son), David Rapson (son) and many grandchildren and other family members. Gary was preceded in death by his son Robert Wilson and brother Perry Wilson.
A memorial ceremony is being held Saturday, March 11th at 1 p.m. at the Beechridge Baptist Church, 110 Beechridge Road, Bagdad, KY 40003, all are welcome who would like to attend and celebrate Gary’s life, refreshments will be served.
