Tractor-trailer strikes overpass on I-75 in Marion County, northbound lanes closed

Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75 in Marion County are experiencing traffic delays after a tractor-trailer struck an overpass on Wednesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on I-75 with an over-dimensional load when it struck and damaged the SW 66th Street overpass near mile marker 347.

Due to the accident, all northbound lanes on I-75 are closed at County Road 484 in Marion County, northwest of Lake County. In addition, SW 66th Street is also closed while the Florida Department of Transportation assesses damages to the overpass.

Any motorists traveling in the area should seek other routes until further notice.
