A brand-new art exhibit by nature photographer Rose Derkay is now on display in Ocala.
The exhibit, titled “First Bloom,” explores Derkay’s interpretation and translation of individual flower personalities while highlighting their unique and natural architecture, according to the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department.

Nature is a huge source of inspiration for Derkay, especially flowers. In 2021, Derkay began exhibiting her photographs, and she has participated in the Ocala Arts Festival, the group show Flowers at the Brick City Center for the Arts, the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach, and the Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival.

“First Bloom” is the first solo exhibit by Derkay, and visitors can check it out at the Ocala Recreation and Parks Administration Building (828 NE 8th Avenue) and Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center (830 NE 8th Avenue) on Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There is no cost to view the exhibit and it is open to the public.
