Two women wanted by Marion County sheriff for exploiting elderly victims

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods is asking the public for help to locate two women who are wanted on multiple charges in connection with the exploitation of an elderly couple.

During his regular “Wanted by Woods Wednesday” segment on Facebook, Sheriff Woods asked for assistance with finding 30-year-old Irene Kellogg and 50-year-old Chandra Trobaugh.

Trobaugh is wanted for grand theft, dealing in stolen property, and providing false owner information to a pawnbroker.

According to Sheriff Woods, Kellogg moved in with the first victim for a few months. While living with the first victim, Kellogg allegedly used documents from the victim’s home to obtain a Florida driver’s license.

Sheriff Woods stated that this license had Kellogg’s photo and the victim’s personal information. Kellogg then used the driver’s license to apply for a live-in caretaker position. When she was hired, she moved in with the second victims – an elderly couple.

During her stay with the elderly victims, Kellogg asked if her aunt – later identified as Trobaugh – could move in with them. The elderly victims agreed to let Trobaugh stay at the residence.

While Kellogg and Trobaugh were both staying with the elderly victims, several items were stolen from the victims, and some of those items were allegedly pawned by Trobaugh. According to Sheriff Woods, the elderly victims also discovered that Trobaugh had obtained a credit card under one of their names, and she had added herself as an authorized user on the account.

“Now, you two found an elderly couple looking for aid, but instead of helping, you took advantage of them,” stated Sheriff Woods. “And Irene, you stole your first victim’s identity and were all set up for her to be blamed for this crime, even after she helped you by taking you in.”

The sheriff added that Kellogg and Trobaugh are unlikely to “do the right thing” and turn themselves in. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is hoping that someone in the community knows where they are located.

If anyone has any information on their whereabouts, Sheriff Woods asks that you call Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP (7867) and reference 23-15 in your tip. If you use Crime Stoppers and your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
