Ocala’s Discovery Center closing on March 4 for special event

On Saturday, March 4, the Discovery Center will be closed to the public due to a special event that is scheduled to take place at the facility.

The Discovery Center, which is located at 701 Sanchez Avenue in Ocala, will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday, March 7. Hours of operation are Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This past weekend, the Discovery Center unveiled its new plant-themed exhibit, Plantastic. Throughout the exhibit, Bobbi the Botanist will show visitors the different ways that plants power the world. In addition, visitors will be able to check out a mini hedge maze and a larger-than-life flower garden.

Plantastic will remain on display through Saturday, May 6 during regular operating hours. General admission to the Discovery Center is $8 per person or $28 for a family of four. Annual memberships are also available for individuals and families.

The Discovery Center also offers additional educational opportunities for a $3 add-on to the price of general admission, including StarLab Planetarium shows on Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and STEAM Saturdays at 2 p.m.
