Ocala Police Department hiring 911 dispatchers

The Ocala Police Department is looking for members of the local community who are interested in becoming a 911 dispatcher.

As a 911 dispatcher, qualified candidates will be placed in the front lines to assist Marion County residents while ensuring that everyone remains calm and informed. According to the job description, duties include answering all incoming emergency and non-emergency phone calls, including the county’s enhanced 911 system, and providing support for dispatch peers.

“In this role, you could help save lives,” stated the Ocala Police Department in a social media post.

No experience is required and training will be provided by OPD. The starting pay for this full-time position is nearly $18 an hour, and continued training could lead to earnings of up to $26 an hour. A full benefits package is also offered which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plans, and paid time off.
