Peggy Ann Peterson

Peggy Ann Peterson, 64, of Ocala, FL, passed away on March 6, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a kind, generous, and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose quick wit and beautiful smile could light up a room. Peggy led a full and active life, and will be deeply missed by many.

Born August 27, 1958 to Robert (1928-2005) and Theresa (nee Byczynski) Walczyk in Milwaukee, WI, Peggy attended Hamilton High School (class of 1976) where she met her sweetheart, Jace Peterson. After marrying in 1977, Peggy and Jace went on to build a wonderful life together, first in Wisconsin, and after retirement, in Florida. They shared many travels, including a trip to Amsterdam, and their dream vacation to Australia and New Zealand. In their retirement years, Peggy’s love of animals would keep her closer to home, with three rescued dogs and two rescued cats.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jace Peterson, her daughter Nicole Reardon (Nick), and son Brett Peterson (Porscha), her grandchildren Gabriel and Morghan Reardon, Noland Peterson, and Cairo Williams. Peggy is also survived by her mother Theresa Walczyk, brothers Jeffrey (Kathy) and Dennis (Teri), sister Sandy Helwig (Todd), brother-in-law Jeffery Peterson (Nancy), sister-in-law Linda Schilder-Komorowski (Scott), and 16 nieces and nephews, as well as their children.

Peggy leaves a lasting legacy of love and laughter. She was a source of advice for her children as they became parents, and a favorite playmate for her grandchildren. Peggy had an unfailing belief that life would work out as it was supposed to, and although her life was far too short, it was well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, Peggy’s family asks that you donate to your local animal shelter in her memory.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; For love is strong as death…” -Song of Songs 8:6
