Ocala woman arrested for voter fraud after casting two ballots in same election

A 66-year-old Ocala woman was arrested this week after she was accused of casting more than one ballot in the same election.

In 2020, Donna Prentes Brady voted in both the state primary and general elections in Florida and New Jersey, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

An investigation by FDLE revealed that in both elections, Brady voted in-person in Marion County while voting by mail in Sussex County, New Jersey.

On Monday afternoon, Brady was arrested by FDLE agents for violating Florida Statute 104.18, and she was transported to Marion County Jail. She was later released from the jail on $2,000 bond.

Brady is being charged with casting more than one ballot in any election (two counts), which is a third degree felony.

A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records. The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, Fifth Judicial Circuit.
