23-year-old Ocala man arrested on 20 counts of possession of child porn

A 23-year-old Ocala man was arrested last week after local authorities received a tip from a national agency that over 100 items of child sexual abuse material were uploaded to an internet account from his IP address.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a detective received a series of tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that the numerous files containing child pornography had been uploaded from a single IP address.

The detective conducted an investigation and discovered that the IP address was assigned to a residence in the 8800 block of SE 79th Road in Ocala. A search warrant was then obtained for the home located at that address.

The search warrant was executed on Friday, March 17, and a senior digital forensic examiner conducted a forensic analysis on an iPad Pro belonging to Luis Gabriel Garcia Rosado. According to MCSO, the iPad Pro was identified as the device that had uploaded the child sexual abuse material.

The sheriff’s office stated that additional files were recovered from Garcia Rosado’s internet account that depicted toddlers and young children engaged in sexual acts with adults.

After being read his Miranda rights, Garcia Rosado told investigators that he was the only person who had access to the iPad Pro.

Garcia Rosado was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail where he is currently being held on $200,000 bond. He is facing felony charges for possession of child pornography (20 counts).

A court date has been scheduled at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, according to jail records.
