Cadillac driver sought in hit-and-run crash that seriously injured Ocala man

A 28-year-old moped rider from Ocala was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Marion County on Wednesday, and the Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help to find the driver responsible for the accident.

Shortly before 12:05 a.m., a two-vehicle crash involving a 2014 black Cadillac sedan and a 2022 orange moped occurred on U.S. Highway 441 near SE 73rd Street in Ocala, according to the FHP incident report.

FHP stated that the driver of the Cadillac fled the scene on foot after the collision. The 28-year-old male driver of the moped sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital in serious condition.

The crash is still under investigation. FHP seeks any information from the public, including individuals who were at the scene rendering aid to the victim, that might help investigators locate the driver involved in the hit-and-run crash.
