Raymond Toivo Pekkola, 62, of Fort McCoy, FL passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2023, at AdventHealth Ocala.

Raymond “Ray” was born in Holden, MA, to Terttu Mantyla and Charles Pekkola on August 1st, 1960. He attended Wachusett Regional High School and graduated in 1978. For 35+ years Ray worked in refrigeration and HVAC. Ray was proud of his Finnish heritage, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, four wheeling, meeting new people, and taking his dog, Truffles, everywhere he went. Ray loved working with his hands and had extensive knowledge in many types of repairs, he often used this skill to help others, and took great pride in being called on for assistance. Ray was a one-of-a-kind, humble, and caring individual that always lived life with great passion and aspirations.

Ray is survived by his daughters; Jessica Nason and her husband Joseph Nason, Nicole Brunelle and her husband Kyle Brunelle, two sisters; Tammy Donalson and her husband Dennis Donalson, Diane Lampi and her husband Ronald Lampi, his grandsons; Edmund Nason and Samuel Nason, and his granddaughter; Calla Nason. He is predeceased by his parents; Charles Pekkola and Terttu Pekkola, and his sister; Sheila Pekkola.

Private burial services will be held in Massachusetts in May 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to K9s For Warriors (www.k9sforwarriors.org <http://www.k9sforwarriors.org>), a non-profit organization that equips disabled veterans with service dogs.
