The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is actively conducting an investigation after deputies discovered a deceased body on the side of the road in Ocklawaha on Friday morning, less than 10 hours after an injured woman was found nearby.
On Thursday, shortly after 10:50 p.m., MCSO deputies responded to the area of Forest Lakes Park on SE 183rd Avenue Road in Ocklawaha in reference to a woman who was laying on the side of the road. Upon arrival, deputies located the injured woman, and she was transported to a local hospital.
At approximately 7:55 a.m. on Friday morning, deputies responded to the area of SE 94th Street and SE 188th Court in Ocklawaha in reference to another person who had been found on the side of the road. Deputies quickly arrived on scene and discovered that the person was deceased.
MCSO Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and are investigating both incidents. The sheriff’s office urges motorists to avoid these areas if at all possible.
