CareerSource CLM region hosting several hiring events, job fairs

Plenty of businesses will be participating in hiring events throughout the CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion region in the coming weeks, and local job seekers are encouraged to attend.

Rusty Skinner, CEO of CareerSource CLM, stated, “What we’re seeing are businesses serious about hiring all manner of candidates, from older youth and young adults to seasoned professionals with advanced degrees, and across a variety of industries.”

Transition Live Center’s hiring event (April 7)

On Friday, April 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Transition Live Center (TLC) will hold a hiring event at CareerSource CLM’s Marion County Career Center located at 2703 NE 14th Street in Ocala. TLC is looking to fill multiple positions that include Direct Support Professional and Instructional Assistant, Adult Special Needs Instructor, and Program Manager/Special Needs.

World Equestrian Center’s hiring event (April 10 through April 12)

On Monday, April 10 through Wednesday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the World Equestrian Center (WEC) will host a hiring event at Expo Center 1. WEC’s main entrance is located at 1750 NW 80th Avenue in Ocala, but candidates may prefer to access the event by turning onto NW 87th Court Road from State Road 40.

During the three-day hiring event, WEC will be recruiting to fill over 50 positions ranging from golf cart attendants and guest service agents to purchasing coordinators and security officers to facilities supervisors and sous chefs.

ResCare Community Living’s hiring event (April 12)

On Wednesday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to noon, ResCare Community Living will host a hiring event at CareerSource CLM’s Marion County career center located at 2703 NE 14th Street in Ocala. ResCare is hiring direct care professionals and LPNs.

Marion County Public Schools Career Fair (April 15)

On Saturday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, Marion County Public Schools (MCPS), in collaboration with CareerSource CLM, will host a Career Fair at the World Equestrian Center’s Expo Center 2. WEC’s main entrance is located at 1750 NW 80th Avenue in Ocala, but candidates may prefer to access the event by turning onto NW 87th Court Road from State Road 40.

During the career fair, MCPS will be looking to fill dozens of immediate positions as well as those for the upcoming school year.

Marion County Youth Job Fair (April 27)

On Thursday, April 27, form 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Marion County Youth Job Fair, in partnership with MCPS, will be held at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion Auditorium located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Road in Ocala.

This hiring event is exclusively for anyone ages 16 to 24 with little-to-no job experience who are looking for employment, whether full- or part-time, permanent, temporary, or just for the summer. For more information, call 1-800-434-JOBS (5627), ext. 1145.

Levy County Youth Job Fair (May 4)

On Thursday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Levy County Youth Job Fair, in partnership with the School Board of Levy County, will be held at the College of Central Florida Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus located at 15390 NW Highway 19 in Chiefland.

This hiring event is exclusively for anyone ages 16 to 24 with little-to-no job experience who are looking for employment, whether full- or part-time, permanent, temporary, or just for the summer. For more information, call 1-800-434-JOBS (5627), ext. 1145.

Those who are interested in attending any of the upcoming hiring events and job fairs are encouraged to bring printed copies of their resumes. In addition, candidates should dress appropriately – nothing that is torn, revealing, or with profane language; no shorts; and no flip-flops or slippers.

Skinner added that those who would like assistance preparing for any hiring event are encouraged to visit any of CareerSource CLM’s career centers on weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for fee-free employability services such as resume and interview assistance, training, job referrals, and one-on-one career counseling.
