STEMCon returns to Ocala in May, registration open

STEMCon is returning to Ocala next month to explore the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and Marion County students in 3rd through 8th grade are invited to attend with their families.

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 3 (for grades 3 through 5) and Thursday, May 4 (for grades 6 through 8), from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the College of Central Florida’s Ewers Century Center, which is located at 3001 SW College Road in Ocala.

This year’s STEMCon is presented by Lockheed Martin in partnership with Marion County Public Schools, the College of Central Florida and Mid-FL Regional Manufacturers Association. The two-day event will include demonstrations, competitions, and the following activities:

  • Science – Learn about engines and generators.
  • Technology – Compete in a Mars rover expedition.
  • Engineering – Build and race a recycled boat.
  • Math – Solve puzzles and math problems to escape from a room.

Pizza will be served to all attendees, and prizes will also be awarded throughout the event.
