Candidate Workshop to provide tips on running for office in Ocala

The Marion County Supervisor of Elections is offering an Ocala Candidate Workshop for individuals who are interested in running for local office in 2023 or learning about the candidate process.

The workshop, which is presented by Marion County Supervisor of Elections Wesley Wilcox, will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 4 at the Marion County Election Center located at 981 NE 16th Street in Ocala.

Workshop participants will learn about the fundamentals of the City of Ocala candidate process and how to successfully navigate a campaign. Additionally, the workshop will cover the qualifying process, petition requirements, campaign finance, reporting requirements, political advertising, and more.

Angel Jacobs, City Clerk and qualifying officer for the City of Ocala, will be in attendance to answer questions and provide information.

Candidates, campaign staff, and members of the public are encouraged to attend. The workshop is free to attend but space is limited. The deadline to reserve a seat is Thursday, April 27.
