Trinity Catholic High School announced on Tuesday morning that Tommy Bond, the school’s Athletic Director for the past 15 years, has resigned.
During Bond’s tenure as Athletic Director, Trinity Catholic won six state team titles and two individual titles, along with numerous district and regional titles. The athletic program has also grown to compete in 25 different sports, including football, cheerleading, cross country, golf, swimming, tennis, weight lifting, basketball, volleyball, baseball, bowling, girls flag football, softball, lacrosse, and track and field.
“My time here at TC has been a blessing,” stated Bond. “I have had the privilege to work with and for a lot of great people. I am thankful for all the memories that have been made over the last 15 years. They are memories that I will never forget.”
“This is truly a special place, and I would not trade the blood, sweat, and tears I have put into it for anything. I hope I gave it as much as it gave me,” added Bond.
Lou Pereira, President of Trinity Catholic, stated that Bond represented the school with class and integrity during his time as Athletic Director. “His work ethic and loyalty to Trinity Catholic are unsurpassed. He will be greatly missed on our campus.”
While he is no longer the Athletic Director, Bond will continue in his role as the school’s baseball coach, which he has served for over two decades. He has won 14 district titles, and he reached the final four a total of four times, winning the state title in 2014.
In addition to coaching, Bond will continue to have a presence at Trinity Catholic by serving as a special advisor to the school’s athletic program.
