Youth Job Fair to be held at Southeastern Livestock Pavilion

CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion is teaming up with Marion County Public Schools next week to host a Youth Job Fair in Ocala.

The hiring event, which is exclusively for youth and young adults (ages 16 to 24), will be held on Thursday, April 27, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion Auditorium located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Road in Ocala.

The hiring event is ideal for individuals who are seeking full-time or part-time employment for permanent, summer, or temporary positions. There is no cost to attend the event, but job seekers are asked to register in advance by clicking here.

The following businesses have been confirmed for the upcoming job fair: AutoZone Distribution Center, AutoZone Retail, Best Buy/Geek Squad, Brookdale Senior Living, Capital City Bank, Chewy, Chick-fil-A, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, CSS Mechanical, Earthscapes Unlimited, Exckerd Connects, FedEx Ground, Fidelity Manufacturing, Florida Department of Corrections, Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches – Camping Services, Hilton Ocala, Hospice of Marion County, Marion County Board of County Commissioners, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, On Top of the World (Colen Built), Rank Quality Restaurants (McDonald’s), Scott Cameron State Farm, Waffle House, Well Bilt Industries, and the World Equestrian Center.

Dale French, executive vice president for CareerSource CLM, stated that a limited number of spots are still available for businesses interested in participating. For more information, to register your business for the event, or to place job orders if unable to attend, contact the CareerSource CLM business development team at 1-800-746-9950.

“By taking part in the job fair, businesses will find older youth and young adults who are eager to learn about their job opportunities and who are ready to work and excited to earn a paycheck,” stated French.

Nearly 120 job seekers attended last year’s Youth Job Fair, and many of them left the event with on-the-spot job offers or lined up subsequent interviews, according to CareerSource CLM.

While Marion County Public Schools is co-hosting the hiring event, it is also open to youth and young adults (ages 16 to 24) from Citrus and Levy counties.

Attendees should bring printed copies of their resume and be prepared for on-the-spot job interviews. Proper dress will be required and all those planning to attend the job fair should come dressed to impress: no flip-flops or casual sandals, t-shirts with profane or obscene language or images, no shorts or jeans with rips or holes, or anything that is too tight, too short, or revealing.

Anyone interested in developing or updating their resume, working on interview skills, or receiving job fair preparation tips are encouraged to visit one of CareerSource CLM’s career centers located in Ocala (2703 NE 14th Street), Lecanto (683 S Adolph Point), and Chiefland (2175 NW 11th Drive). All job candidate services are available at no charge.
