‘Gross’ science exhibit to open later this month at Discovery Center

An upcoming exhibit at the Discovery Center will showcase the gross side of science.

On Saturday, May 20, “Gross Out” will open to the public at the Discovery Center, which is located at 701 NE Sanchez Avenue in Ocala. The exhibit will remain on display through Saturday, August 26, during regular business hours.

According to the Discovery Center, the exhibit will show visitors that the subject of science can be fun and gross. It will explore what blood is made of, how loud a burp is, and the identification of animals by their waste.

In addition, visitors will learn about the world of creepy crawlies, gross smells, and stinky science.

There is still time to check out the Discovery Center’s current exhibit, “Plantastic,” before it leaves on Saturday, May 6. The Discovery Center will then be closed to the public from Sunday, May 7 through Friday, May 19 for the installation of “Gross Out.”

The Discovery Center is open on Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission is $8 per person or $28 for a family of four. Annual memberships are also available for individuals and families.
