A 35-year-old Ocala man who fell asleep in a parked car at a local gas station is facing multiple felony charges after a deputy spotted drugs inside his vehicle.
On Wednesday, Marion County Sheriff’s Office units responded to the Circle K gas station located at 5182 E Silver Springs Boulevard in Silver Springs in reference to a man who was sleeping in a silver car that was parked at a gas pump, according to the arrest report.
Upon arrival, one of the deputies observed that the man inside the silver car, identified as Trevor Adam Davidson, appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat. The deputy knocked on the top of the vehicle, which woke up Davidson.
In the MCSO report, the deputy noted that a black box was on the center console, and it appeared to contain small pink baggies that were filled with prescription pills and methamphetamine. Davidson told the deputy that the pills were his “medicine,” and he admitted that the pills had not been prescribed to him.
The deputy instructed Davidson to exit the vehicle, and he initially refused the request. He then told the deputy that he thought he was “overdosing on fentanyl,” and medics who were at the incident location quickly evaluated him. The deputy noted in the report that Davidson’s vitals were normal, and he did not show any signs of an overdose.
A search of Davidson’s vehicle was conducted, and the following items were located inside the black box on the center console: Ten 25-mg Adderall capsules; a small bag containing 6.5 grams of a cloudy crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine; a small bag containing 7 grams of a white rock-like substance that field-tested positive for MDPV; and two scales that had a white residue on them, according to the MCSO report.
In addition, a clear bag containing a green leafy substance was also located in Davidson’s left front pocket. The substance weighed one gram and field-tested positive for both marijuana and fentanyl.
Davidson was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail, where he failed several field sobriety exercises. He provided two breath samples, which revealed that his blood alcohol level was .000, and he also provided a urine sample.
Davidson is currently being held at Marion County Jail on $10,000 bond. He is facing felony charges for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (three counts) and possession of fentanyl, along with misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A court date has been scheduled at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, according to jail records.
