To the Editor:
I am writing to express my frustration about the lack of activities available to young adults and teenagers in the city of Ocala. As someone who is in their teenage years, I can attest to the fact that there is simply nothing to do in this city.
Ocala may be a beautiful city, but it lacks the kind of entertainment options that appeal to young adults and teenagers. There are few places to hang out with friends, no exciting events to attend, and no fun activities to engage in. It seems that the city has been designed for an older demographic, leaving us younger folks with little to do.
This is not just my opinion, but something that is shared by many of my peers. It’s a shame because there are so many of us who would like to get out and do something exciting. But, without any options, we are left to sit at home, bored and frustrated.
I think it’s time that the city starts thinking about its younger population and starts to provide activities that cater to our interests. We need more options for places to hang out, more events that we can attend, and more activities that we can engage in. It’s time for the city to invest in its younger population and give us something to do.
