Willis Chapman Wood, 86, of Orange Springs, FL, passed away at his home.

Willis was born in Blountstown, FL, to Otis and Lola Mae Wood. Willis served as a Sgt. in the Army National Reserves. Willis worked as a heavy machine operator/Driving low boy trucks as well as a fuel truck driver for over 10 years with Hamlet Construction Co. Willis enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and gardening. Willis has received awards for Safe Driver/Operator by the Marion County Roadbuilders Association. He enjoyed donating to the Amvets Association, Paralyzed Vets of America, State Troopers Association, and the St. Labre Indian School.

Willis is survived by three sons Keith, Royce, and Marvin Wood all of Orange Springs, three grandchildren, Jared, Connie, and Ira Wood, four great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Susan and Ruth Wood, four nephews James, Troy, Waylon, and Timmy, two nieces Tammy and Kimalou Wood all of Blounstown, FL.

Willis is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life Bertha Wood, his parents, Otis and Lola Mae Wood, his brothers, Arthur and Clifford Wood.

A visitation will be held at Roberts of Ocala Downtown Chapel on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home Downtown Chapel on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David Lambert officiating, visitation will be held 30 minutes prior. The burial will immediately follow at Simmons Baptist Church Cemetery in Citra, FL.
