Moses Paul Davis, Jr., age 86, passed away on May 17, 2023 at Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield, Florida. Paul, as he was affectionately known by all that knew and loved him, was born on September 11, 1936 in Loris, South Carolina to the late Moses Paul and Eunice Glene (Fields) Davis.

When Paul was in high school and college he played football, basketball and participated in track & field events. He later joined the United States Air Force and received the rank of Captain before he was Honorably Discharged.

Paul was a retired engineer. He received his Ph.D at NC State in Materials Engineering, with a minor in Statistics and worked in the electronics industry for over 40+ years.

To say Paul was active in many hobbies and interests would be an understatement. He and his wife, Judy, shared many adventures as they surf fished, went scuba diving, camped, hiked, traveled in their RV and rode their motorcycles. They also volunteered for the American Red Cross and were sent to Ground Zero after 9-11 aiding those who suffered economic losses as a result. They also joined the Emergency Management Team in Punta Gorda after Hurricane Charlie struck in 2004.

Windsurfing, sailing, golf, pickleball, wood carving and road bike cycling also filled up a lot of Paul’s retirement.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Judith “Judy” M. Davis; sons, Cullen (Pam), Mark (Billie), Michael (Tadam), Jason (Kara), Jared (Maryanne) and daughter, Rachel (Bobby); brother, James (Betty) Davis and 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Arrangements are entrusted to Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL 34480.
