The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department, in partnership with the Marion County Public Library System, will host five ‘Reading with Rangers and Friends’ events in June.
The weekly program will kick off at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2 at Fort King National Historic Landmark (3925 E Fort King Street). During the event, an Ocala Park Ranger and other special guests will read a book to the children in attendance.

Additional installments of the reading program will take place at the following locations in Ocala:
- Friday, June 9 at Tuscawilla Park (800 NE Sanchez Avenue).
- Friday, June 16 at Jervey Gantt Recreation Complex (2200 SE 36th Avenue).
- Friday, June 23 at Lillian Bryant Park (2200 NW 17th Place).
- Friday, June 30 at Fort King National Historic Landmark (3925 E Fort King Street).
The events, which begin at 11 a.m., are free to attend and open to the public. Registration is not required, and all visitors are encouraged to pack a snack, blanket, or chair.
