The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from the public to identify a man who reached into the passenger side window of a woman’s pickup truck and stole her backpack.
On May 19, 2023, the male suspect (pictured below) entered the Shell gas station’s convenience store located at 5985 W Highway 40 in Ocala, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office.

After the male suspect exited the convenience store, he approached the victim’s pickup truck at around 4:45 p.m. and reached into the passenger side window. He then grabbed a backpack belonging to the victim, and he proceeded to walk to a red SUV (shown in the pictures below) and left the area.

Once the victim realized that her backpack was missing, she requested surveillance footage from the convenience store and contacted law enforcement.
