OCALA – Dona Lee Dobbs, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 in Ocala, FL at the age of 93.
Dona was born in Lake Butler, FL on November 5, 1929. Her parents were Willie and Leila Knight. Dona is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, husband (Paul), and great granddaughter (Audrey).
Dona was a faithful, loving wife to Paul J. Dobbs for 67 years. She worked alongside Paul as a secretary for the Department of Agriculture for many years. Dona was a devoted mother of four surviving children; two sons, Mike Dobbs (Jolene), Chris Dobbs (Janice), and two daughters, Donna Turner (Rick), Paula Cannon (Danny), six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Dona was an active member of First Baptist Church Ocala until she was unable to attend due to aging issues.
A special appreciation to the staff of Hampton Manor Deerwood Assisted Living who took such good care of her for the last 18 months of her life.
Funeral services for Dona will be held at Hiers/ Baxley Funeral Home, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd on June 12, 2023 at 11:00 and visitation will begin at 10:00.
Dona will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park following her service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Dona and her beloved husband (Paul).
