Laura Frances Yonce, 93, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023. She was the widow of Luther V. “Vernon” Yonce who passed away in 2016.

She was born in Dover, New Jersey, on July 11, 1930, the daughter of William and Laura Dry. Her family moved to Hollywood, Florida, when she was a teenager. It was there that she met her future husband, Luther. They were married on November 4, 1950. It was in Hollywood where they would raise their four sons.

After her husband’s retirement, they relocated to the “Country,” as Laura liked to say, in Citra. Laura was a full-time mom and wife, which she enjoyed very much. She was a very creative woman who excelled at everything she put her mind to. One of her life-long loves was dancing. From the time she was a little girl, she would take dance classes and would continue this love of dancing into her retirement years.

She enjoyed teaching line dancing at her local senior center. One of her highlights was being able to line dance with her granddaughter, Courtney. She also had a passion for baking and cake decorating. She made wedding cakes for all four of her sons. There was not a craft that she could not do, and she enjoyed all of them! She was especially fond of crocheting and loved to create gifts for her family and friends.

She is survived by her four sons, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as her loving little dog, Candy. The family also gives a special thanks to her longtime neighbor and friend, Janice, and her caregiver, Cynde, for their kindness and compassion.
