A summit for local teenagers is being held in Ocala this weekend, and it will focus on the topic of gun violence.
MEGGA (Manifesting Excellence for Guys and Girls Association) and the Teen Gun Violence Prevention Task Force will present the first annual Teen Summit on Sunday, September 3, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center, which is located at 1510 NW 4th Street in Ocala.
The all-age event is free to attend, and teens/kids are encouraged to bring their parents. During the event, special guest panelists will discuss the topic of gun violence, along with other issues that affect teens, in an effort to empower attendees to make better choices.
There will also be a live DJ, free food, giveaways, bounce houses, a gaming truck, and field events to take part in.
