Construction has been progressing rapidly on a new Chick-fil-A being built at the intersection of SW College Road and SW 48th Avenue.
Walls were put up by construction crews in recent weeks at the new location, which will be the third in Ocala for the popular chicken franchise.

The restaurant will be located next to multiple businesses that have opened up in the past couple years, including RaceWash, Culver’s, CarMax, and Chicken Salad Chick.
Plans call for construction of a 5,875-square-foot, one-story building.

No opening date has been announced for the new Chick-fil-A, which is located at 5048 SW 48th Avenue in Ocala.
Currently, the franchise operates two other locations in Ocala, both of which are also located along SW College Road.
Chick-fil-A joins other restaurants across the city that are in various stages of construction, including many that have opened new locations this summer.
On Friday, The Flame Indian Kitchen opened its new restaurant at 3710 SW College Road, next to I-75.

Fat Boys BBQ reopened its iconic location in east Ocala after new ownership conducted extensive renovations at the property, which is located at 4132 E Silver Springs Boulevard.

In addition to the others, Crave BBQ and Hot Dogs, Big Lee’s BBQ, Sweet ‘N Savory Eats, Morelli’s Pizza and Subs, Ola Drive-Thru Coffee, and Slice all opened new locations this summer.
