A stage adaptation of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is set to premier at the Ocala Civic Theatre on Thursday, September 7.
The musical tells the story of Sweeney Todd, a man who has beef with the world, though beef isn’t what he and Mrs. Lovett put in their meat pies. Todd is a barber with a grudge against a judge and Lovett is quite literally his “ride-or-die.”
Together, Todd and Lovett are about to make a killing on the “worst pies in London,” because revenge is a dish best served cold.
The opening night performance of Sweeney Todd will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 7 at the Ocala Civic Theatre, which is located at 4337 E Silver Springs Boulevard. The show’s runtime is three hours, and it will include a 20-minute intermission.
